I will tell you this. I've done more depression research than probably anyone on earth. I'm speaking about 27 years of deep thought after being crippled as a child.
Here are the facts: Chemical in-balances can only cause confusion and be a stress factor,but depression is the separation of the will from the self.
When we are bombarded with negative feelings we try to fight it by being positive. Well it's like when you see a football team that's losing
the Superbowl near the end of the game that's out of reach. You see them all depressed right. Well their will is separated from their situation so the mind gives up.
With the omega sign it means that the will seams to be completely lost,BUT IT IS NOT! THIS CAN BE FIXED!
Your son's subconscious mind is always active and right now it has orders to not react to any stimulus because it takes orders from the will.
If this doesn't make complete sense don't worry it will. I’ll tell you how to mend it.
I would try to get him a easy project to do like buying a bonsai tree. It needs to be trimmed watered and put in the sun. It's easy and only simple things will get past this defense where the will is so scared it won't let anything threatening in.
The environment needs to be pleasant and relaxing with no family arguments around him. If you can find any hobby that he reacts to that’s positive and safe then try to get him to do that activity as much as possible.
Laughter is the goal,but might take a while to get to. Laughter immediately resets the emotions.
