If you are writing about herbs it is a great idea to include its common or folk names and its latin name. That's if you're doing something more scientific. You could also include its reputed healing properties or any research that has been done on the herb. for research on an herb you can go to www.pubmed.com and type in the herb name (sometimes you'll have to use its latin name) and you should get a list of research articles that show up in the search engine.
