my friend just drank some cough medicine but accidently drank 1 cup [ya know those small plastic cups?] instead of 1/2 a cup. can anything happen?

Totally nothing. You can research the ld50 if you want, it'll be somewhere around drinking 500 entire bottles to have a 50% chance of dying.
People who drink cough syrup for recreational use drink about 2 bottles. One tiny plastic cup is FINE.

sofa syrups are highly diluted to be able to do anything accidentally, that's a diff thing if someone intentionally tries to do something.

your body weight has a lot to do with it. if it is otc medicine most likely you'll b ok. if your that concearned induce vomating or call poisen control
