How much mouthwash are you supposed to use each time?

I use up to a cap full and find that sufficient, but my brother used a quarter of a bottle each time!

I'm sure that's far too much to use and his mouth must be on fire after, not to mention the cost because a bottle only lasts him for 4 washes.

A cap full. A quarter bottle is pretty extreme…..maybe your brother is drinking it??? If so, that’s not healthy…..

Yup - cap full is all you need. Read the directions on the back of the bottle….I think it can be read there.

Depends how massive is the cap I use about less than a cap of mouthwash and then mix it all around in my mouth for like 30 seconds wash it off with a cup of water.
