I have an abscess and I'm probably going to have to receive a root canal. My dad is sure that it's an abscess, it's obvious too. It causes me a lot of pain. But I'm scared to death of getting a root canal. I know what could go wrong and stuff, and it worries me to death. What can help me get over my fear of root canals???
*help me?*
Answer:
I had a root canal done because I had a horrible pain in my tooth. You're going to drool A LOT. And they’ll put this thing in your mouth so you keep it open, and it's going to injured because you have to keep your mouth open for about an hour. Also, they put this thing around your tooth so spit doesn't get around it. Oh, and the shots that are supposed to numb your face kind of hurt, but the root canal it self won't be that bad.
Answer:

Alla root canal is, in laymans term a filling inside of the tooth. They go into the tooth remove the debrie , clean in and fill the inside of the tooth. Root canals are very straight foward techniques. also have your father discuse sedation with your dentist if your under 18, that’ll help alleviate your anxiety.
Answer:
Okay, I've had over twelve of them (yes, twelve) and NOTHING EVER went wrong.
Top, bottom, front, molars– nothing. B y both Endodontists that are professors at UCLA to just DDS's in Coral Springs Florida - Oklahoma too.
You just need to get this done - the abcess is much more dangeros than any danger from the root canal procedure - you’ll be FREE of pain and be asking yourself why you didn't have this sooner.
Answer:
I comprehend how you feel, I had a root canal at the age fifteen. I was in a lot of pain, and I was completly terrified. I had the dentist put me to sleep while he preformed the surgery. You shoul ask if you can have this option. Once its done it will still hurt, but if you eat soft and cold foods for the next few days it will feel better. Don't eat hard or salty things like potato chips or crackers.
Answer:
Root canals can be tricky, so see if you can see a specialist (endodontist). See if you can get a little presedation before the procedure (valium, ativan, or something like that). Most really nervous people are surprised when they find that it wasn't so bad.
Answer:
