Hello. After spending 20 mins on my abs a day and running ( a lot
) I finially got a small six pack. I was wondering how much times a week should I work on my abs to maintain them? Do I still need to work them out 7 days a week? I’m still going to run the same amount, but I figure I probably could work mys abs less and still miaintain them? Is that correct?
Answer:
Actually you don't need to keep doing what you've been doing to keep the abs - in fact working out your abs every day isn't good for them: http://exercise.about.com/cs/abs/a/abmyt…
And muscle maintenance is different to muscle building.
Keep up the running, the cardio is great. But really you should only work out your abs 3 days a week - but make sure the exercises are slow, controlled and really count. You don't need to do hundreds.
Well done on your achievement!!
Answer:
You'll need to do what you’re now.Maybe do a tiny less day by day if you want to work yours abs less.
If you stop absolutely, you’ll lose them & it'll be harder to regain them.
If you're still going to run the same amount,I'd try really small differences to help your body reduce the workout. For instance,20 minutes a day?I would reduce to 18 minutes a week, and if that seems to still maintain the abs, drop it down to 16.I wouldn't go down much though.
Answer:
You'll maintain them if you continue what you're doing now. If you cut back the results will also cut back. Think about it in the same terms as weight lifting if someone can lift 100 lbs and then suddenly stops lifting that and drops to 80 after a while they’ll no longer be able to life 100 lbs. To maintain it you just need to stay where you are now.
Answer:
You should easily maintain them.. Once you’ve muscle it's simple to get back. The person above me doesnt no what she's speaking about..
