hi guys im just a tiny concerned because this day i noticed a weird cluster of red/purplely spots on my left tigh and im nearly certain they werent caused by shaving. also they in no way fade under a tumbler glass.
i dont feel ill or anything so what does this mean but i do have aches and pains but i always have those
thank you all so much!
Answer:
These are probably petechiae, small pinpoints of blood leakage from the underlying capillaries, due to the trauma of shaving. The red/purple marks that occur under the skin in meningitis are similar on causality, in that they are also due to blood leakage. They do however occur in the latter stages of meningitis, when the patient is septicaemic. By this time patients are usually moribund! For this reason, by the time this sign is present many patients are nearly at deaths door, which is why though this is indeed a sign of the disease, the diagnosis needs to be made way before this develops, for a patient to have a high chance of survival.

I had that sort of problem.. i woke up one morning with red spots all over my arms, i thought it was meningitis because it didnt go away when i put a glass on it but it turned out i had an allergic reaction to something and the doctor just gave me antihystemines. But yes there is a possibility it could be so i would get to your doctors as soon as possible.
Xx
