okay, I’m type 1 diabetic, and my blood sugar is about 450, is there anyway i can get it down without hospitalization? I take shots if i have to, but i usually don't have to. I've taken a shot and it still isn't going down, any recommendations?
Answer:
Take more insulin and drinks lots of water to flush your system. Also, if you’ve any more questions about Type 1 Diabetes, you should join Juvenation at www.juvenation.org (Networking site for Type 1 Diabetics!!). It has helped me a lot, especially during hard times and tough situations.
Good Luck!

you don't usually have to take shots? if you don't need insulin then you’re not a type 1 diabetic. if you really are a type 1, then you should know already how to utilize your insulin properly. i think you need more education from your cde or nurse.
also, since you're 16 and based on your other questions, just had a stillborn baby (or a miscarriage since you can't decide) and are breastfeeding your sister-in-law's baby all while being engaged to someone and attending high school, it's probably a good idea to keep a closer eye on your supposed diabetes.
Answer:
First of all, if you are a type one diabetic, you should be (if not have to be) on some kind of insulin. Apparently, like the one above me said, if you’re 16, having a stillborn, breast feeding ANOTHER child, then you need some kind of counseling. This is NOT healthy for you, unless you are asking questions for someone else, I would go to a doctor Monday, or asap. Do as everyone said out there, and, since you might need some help with your condition(s), DO NOT EAT if your sugar is over 200. You need to test it to make sure that you’re eating and taking your insulin. If you aren't on insulin, what’s going on with you? You need to make sure your sugars are under control. You health is the most important here. I’ve had diabetes for 15 years, and because I didn't care for myself as well as I should have been when I was younger, I now have neuropathy and rentinopathy and I’m only 21. And having a child with type 1 diabetes is astounding dangerous if you are not caring for yourself. You need to speak to a doctor. Now.
Answer:
Give your self like 4-6 units of insulin and then check again. Then if it still high through away your current insulin and get a fresh one…take another shot and then check again if its still high change your blood sugar checking thing. Then you should be fine…if its low then have a can of pop and if your blood sugar is high whatever you do DON'T EAT ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!
Answer:
Give yourself more insulin then normal and test in a little bit. Then, make sure the insulin isnt old,and make sure the needles are actually giving you insulin.Shoot some insulin into the air to make sure its coming out.You should run around and drink a lot of water also to help.
