My 3 year old son had been potty trained for about 3 months when he started wetting the bed. I thought that maybe it was related to lifestyle change, but then he has recently started peeing his pants a couple times a day. I took him to the Dr. and he was referred to a urologist. The urologist did a UA and said that he’d “large ketones” in his urine. She checked his blood sugar and it was 66. About 2 1/2 hours after breakfast. She stated that this will have to be monitored in the future? Everything I look up comes back to juvenile onset diabetes? Should I be more concerned than what the Dr. appeared to be?

Answer:
Try asking for a referral to a pediatric endocrinologist. Children should not have ketones in their urine.
