please help it is very painful

Answer:
yes, it is. Colchicine .4mg each 2 hours until relief or diarrhea. Cherry juice is suppose to be a miracle, but I’m a low carb person, so I’ve not tried it. Anti inflammatory drugs don't help very much and narcotics only last a couple of hours. All three and I might get some sleep. Once the bout is over, you can take a drug called allopurinol but you have to take it each day. I’ve discovered that processed meats, like salami or beef sticks, are what triggers my gout. If I feel like I might be starting an attack, I drink gobs of water in an attempt to flush out the uric acid crystals.
I feel for you, good luck

Answer:
Indomethacine and colchicine are good for the attacks. Allopurinol and celery seed pills are good long-term pills to take. Drink 1oz of water for every 2 lbs of body weight. Stay away from anything that dehydrates the body, like beer and coffee. Eat lots of fruits and veggies. good luck! Report Abuse

Answer:
also your going to think this is crazy but eating maraschino cherries and drink some of the juice will get rid of the pain from the gout.. not crazy but an enzyme in the cherries does something to the uric acid and makes it go away…give a try I was shocked but it was a life savor! Report Abuse

Answer:
gout is already the manifestation of your high uric acid levels, so pain killers are what you need for it right now.

to lower uric acid, get help from a rheumatologist & follow his advice.

Answer:
you can't get rid of gout, only make it feel superior.
