You have glands under your jawbones on both sides of your neck/jaw. Place your hands under your ears, move down below the jawbone where it joins your neck, and move forward a smidgen. You'll feel them as you gently probe, especially when they swell with infection and are painful. You also have a gland under your chin. This is also a salivary gland but should not be swollen and I don't believe it can be felt like the other glands because of the fat pocket in that spot.

Take a look at the first picture on this site. If what you feel is in the neck/jaw/ear area, then you're feeling #1 or #2. If its under your chin, you may be feeling #3.

If the bump is in none of these places, grows, or feels relatively solid, hard, huge, or painful you might want to have a physician check it out just to ensure it's not to worry about.
