i used to be a self harmer and have scars all over my left arm (they required stitches) the stitches were under the skin n the do stated they were dissolveable and after a few weeks they said poking out and i went back and a diff doc told me that they werent!! and he’d to pull them all out! i dont know if that has anything to do with it but for some reason if i have my arm slightly elevated (like when im popping my pimples, or plucking my eyebrows) i get a pins n needles sensation where all the scars are .. y is this??

It has to do with any nerves that were affected by your slicing or the stitches or both. I’ve a 8 inch scar from surgery that had 27 stitches inside and 27 stitches outside. This was over a year ago and certain spots are sill numb and others are very sensitive and go numb and tingle a lot when I’m doing my hair and things like that too. You can ask your physician about going to a physical therapist and doing desensitization therapy. I just gently massage the whole scar twice a day and it is slowly getting to feel superior. If nerves were damaged, it can take a while (if ever) for them to feel normal again. My surgery was on a large section of a nerve so my physician told me what to anticipate. If it is a huge problem/concern go to your doctor right away.

It's the nerves, Try using kelo cote, it's a great silicone gel that helps flatten the scar, change the colour back to normal, and soothe itching, pins and needles? it's worth a try…

i have lost finger in hand and where the scar is i get pins and needles i was told its the nerve ends its commom hope this helps
