Why is it that we spend 9 months breathing water inside the womb but as soon as we come out, we are unable to ever again, breath water. I know that amniotic fluid it isn't exactly the same as water but you get my drift!
Answer:
When we are in the womb, we don't breath the amniotic fluid. We are attached to our mom by the umbilical chord. Through this, the oxygen and nutrients are passed from our mom to us and we, in turn, pass back the waste and carbon dioxide. So humans can’t breath in liquid.

Its because once the lung capilories have filled with oxygen, they’ll never absorb 'water' again.
