Why does medical research cost money?

In science, you need to make your own research money. This tries to prevent “bad science”. Most money comes from government allows. If they don't approve what you want to do, you don't get funded. You’re however, getting a paycheck, usually from a university, but this is not money you put towards your research. Think of research money as a source to buy office supplies. You wouldn't want that coming out of your paycheck.
