Since having chemotherapy I have a testostorone level of 7 (not sure what scale that is!). I’m taking restandol tablets (3 per day) but it is having no effect. The oncologist reccommended testogel and to see my GP. My GP doesn't know the correct dosage and followup. Who in the hospital would i need to be referred to? Is this something General Medicine would deal with? Should I go private? My chemo was now about 4 years ago.

Answer:
You don't really need to see anyone else. A GOOD GP can always contact hospital specialists by phone for easy advice. All he needs to do is ring either the local endocrinologist or urologist. This could be done without any delay or adding you to yet another clinic waiting list.

I am unsure if your GP is lazy or just has not thought of it. Why not just ask him if he’s prepared to make a simple phone call.

Answer:
This is a real breakdown in communication . The notes from the hospital to your GP should have had the info to enable him to prescribe . The GP should have asked for guidance from consultant if nor sure !! Go to another GP in your practise and ask them to sort this out , it should not be left to you to act as interpreter . The very least the GP could have done was consult the relative manual on the drug instead of copping out

Answer:
CALL your urologist, and if you don't have one that performed your surgery, get one soon.!. I had testicular cancer also, your urologist will know TONS more then i could hope to know, but i'll tell ya that would be the person to ask, ideal of luck.

Answer:
You should see a urologist they deal with these problems or an endocrinologist.

Answer:
An endocrinologist

Answer:
Yes, you need to see a urologist for those types of things.
