I think I'd rather have torretts (sp?) cos its so specific- you can easily warn people that is what's wrong and they will still understand. But with bipolar the condition gets worse over time, suicide rates are far higher than the normal population and during episodes it is hard to hold down a job or lead a remotely normal life. Of course there are meds but psychiatric meds always have rotten side effects and aren't guaranteed to work.
Answer:
Given the choice (not a pleasant one), I'd go with bipolar disorder. It is more readily treatable than Tourette's, and Tourette's frequently is co-morbid with other neuro/psych issues.
