Contact Lenses Help!?

Author: admin

Im new to using contact lenses. I cant afford to take the contact lenses exam so my uncle, who was an optometrist, purchased me some acuvue 2 lenses. He knew which size to buy and everything. He told me how to put them on(I haven't done so yet) and how to take care for them. But I had one question. Right now, I purchased a bottle of Opti-free replenish solution(He told me to purchase that brand to go with the lenses that I bought). In the back of the bottle, it says that you are supposed to leave the solution for at least 6 hours or overnight. My question was, is it safe to put the solution on my lenses as i am handling them? If I put fresh solution on the lenses right before I put them in my eye, will it burn? Can or Can't I do that? Please help me!..Thank you.

Answer:
Yes, you can put a drop of a solution on your lenses. You may have to do this because when you try and try to put in your lenses they’ll get dry and need to be moistened, hence the one drop of solution.

It won't burn.

And the “6 hours or overnight” means that at the end of the day you put your contacts into fresh solution in a clean contacts case to disinfect them overnight until the next day.

YES safe to put the solution on your lenses as you’re handling them.

“If I put fresh solution on the lenses right before I put them in my eye, will it burn?”

NO.

“Can or Can't I do that?”

you CAN

Answer:
yea its fine, opti-free doesnt contain peroxide… basically it takes 6hours to clean the lens if you dont rub it(clean it by hand).

It wont burn, probably slighty uncomfortable for a few seconds.

I have done it so dont worry :)

Contact lenses help?

Author: admin

i'm sort of scared to put my contacts in like i'll jab my eye or get the contact stuck on the other side of my eye :P

is there a right and easy way to just insert my contacts in without feeling like i'm going to kill myself?

Answer:
I was a little scared also when I first got my contacts. Just keep putting in your contacts until you get used to them. There isn't really any magical way to put in your contacts without it seeming freaky. If you really feel that uncomfortable with your contacts maybe you should switch back to glasses or even get laser eye surgery but that'll put a hurt in your wallet. Good Luck!!

Answer:
fill the contacts with solution (since its shaped like a cup) and then put it onto your eye. its ok if some of the water drips out its supposed to, it must makes the lenses softer :]]

Answer:
if you're afraid -stick with glasses.

Answer:
Please don't worry, the conntact cannot possibly get stuck on the other side of your eye as the conjunctiva will prevent it from moving that far.

Call your optician and ask for another lesson on insertion and removal. If he/she is not interested in helping you/observing you to see how it can be more easily done, get a different optician.

Also, there isn't any reason you need to do this if you just aren't ready. Try again some other time if it's too much hassle at this time in your life.
