My 14 year old was being stupid and had a contest with one of his friends on who can stare at the sun for the longest and 2 days later he is complaining that things are slightly blurry… Can this be a result of the sun? I know it can be harmful to your eyes but would it damage vision in such a quick span of only 2 days? Or is it most likely due to puberty? I heard teens eyes get worse in there teens because of they’re still growing.

If he has been staring directly at the sun it is little wonder, the sun can blind you! Tell him that if he values his eye sight he should never do that again, because it seems likely that the cause is the sun….
It could alternatively be gradual eye sight problems and he may need glasses, depending on whether he recovers should tell you whether it was the sun or not the sun.

Could have caused a retinal burn. The only way to know is to take him for an eye exam with an optometrist or opththalmogist.
