I went to an ophthalmologist because of a mass growing by my tear duct and I was told I will need surgery to have it removed. I have never had any type of surgery before and I’m really nervous has anyone had eye surgery before and how did you make out?

Answer:
I’ve had cataract and detached retina surgery. Both times, I was completely numb and didn’t feel anything. YES, I have the ability to relate to being nervous about someone working on your eyes but it is much less painful and less problem later than when I had appendix surgery.

Answer:
I had laser eye surgery to correct my vision and it was breathtaking! No pain, other then some stinging. They give you drugs so I wouldn't worry about. They have drops for your eyes and you can't feel anything plus they will probably give you something so you rest.

Answer:
Yes I had to have an operation to correct a detatched retina. I was under a general anesthetic so was asleep during op.

Woke up fine and the eye is better.
