Each so often I see like flashes of bright light dancing around. I get this a lot in my sight when I’m stressed. What is this?

Answer:
Flashing lights or 'an aura' can occur as a symptom of ocular (having to do with the eyes) migraines, detached retina (retina is at the back of the eye that takes in the light) or (not to cause a panic) those who have a seizure disorder/epilepsy. Please go to an opthalmologist (eye dr) and he or she can analyze one's eyes and go from there. Please don't delay in speaking with an eye physician.

Answer:
You're quite welcome. Please get checked out and feel superior soon. Report Abuse

Answer:
If you are visualizing flashes of lights there are 2 things it can be

1. an ocular problem

2. a systemic problem

Is there several at one time, and occur like you state stressed, fatigued, stand up too quickly. These are signs of sudden changes in blood pressure.

If they occur one at a time, in the periphery, look like Lightning then this could indicate retinal problems. If that is the case then you need to be analyze immediately. Even though this symptom is indicative of a couple different eye disorders, one being a normal process, it also can be one of urgency and this can only be determined by an ophthalmologist.

Answer:
You NEED to see an eye doctor ASAP. This is the main symptom of a detached retina, which can cause blindness if it's not attended too. Please please make an appointment for TODAY.
