I've never worn glasses before but I just got my first pair yesterday to correct very minor astigmatism in both eyes. Now, with the glasses on, my perspective and depth perception is seriously distorted. I feel short (ground seems closer), horizontal lines seem to “bow” so that the line curves up as it moves towards my peripheral, my laptop screen which is titled back just looks care about it gets wider towards to top of the screen, the size of objects seems off, things seem to be sloping in one way or another, etc. This is seriously distracting and I'm wondering when I should be concerned that my eyes/brain is not adjusting?

Trrrrrrrrripy, Man!

Wearing glasses for the first time is a pain - your brain is going to fight the new lenses, and it will take a while for your eyes to relax and let the glasses do their job. I know when I first got my glasses I thought I would break my neck - stairs were a nightmare, and I tripped over everything and nothing. Take your time and let your brain and eyes adjust…it might take a couple of weeks, just be careful cuz you're gonna be klutzy!!

Yea it takes a while to get used to glasses. I have had them for like 10+ years. I normally wear contacts though but i recently got pink eye and have been wearing my glasses for a while and it really really sucks trying to get used to them all over again. BUTTT you’ll, it just takes some time for your eyes to adjust. If it takes longer than two weeks though your prescription might be off. but i'd just give it some time
