I've checked CVS and have called all the major optometrists around here, like Pearle Vision, Hour Eyes, LensCrafters, etc., and the lowest strength they have is 1.00. My next question is, if I can't purchase mine over the counter, where is the most reasonably-priced place to buy prescription glasses? There are various promotions, some places have a complete pair for $99…but does anyone knwo of a better deal than that? I hate that I’ve to get an pricey Rx pair just b/c my strength isn’t common. Thanks!
Answer:
Pre-made readers start at 1.00. You will have to have a prescription and have them made at an optical center.

I don't know who has the lowest price on prescription glasses since my insurance pays for mine. About your strength not being common, mine mustn’t be. Once I was farsighted, no problem seeing far off or reading with the same pair. Now I'm nearsighted, I have the ability to have a pair made for seeing far off, or seeing close up (for reading, ect.), and can't get bofocals. Don't know why. I hate the idea of switching back & forth. Have you tried looking in Wal-Mart ? Someone could have the approximate strength you need.
Hope this helps.
Answer:
You can buy them online. Here is one from Ebay.

You may also want to try various eyeglass places on the internet for them as well.

Unfortunately OTC's are startin gat the 1.00 and then go from there. You would have to have them make them for you. Sorry!
