A lil help?

Author: admin

Hey guys i have a few questions, well let me start from the beginning…this day my chihuahua dog (1 year old female) went under the fence to my neighbors yard who has 2 agressive pitbulls ( we think they abuse the pits, since they are so agressive and are always thirsty for the water we use to flower out plants) anyways, the two pits attacked my chihuahua, and basically tried to shred her…i was lookin for her outside, when i heard screams, i thought it was a baby cryin, but dats when i recognized the screams..i run to my yard, and im find out my dogs being attacked by the pits, and shes cornered too….i try to jump the fence to keep the pits off, but my dad keeps me off sayin the pits will attack me…im standin there cryin, and the owner of the pits tries to get da pits off, but its really hard…so finally he grabs my dog, (my dog bites his finger, becuz shes in sooo much pain, dats wat our vet said)…well we get our dog back, and you cant go near her, shes cryin in pain, and bit

i went throught the same situation with my chihuahua and i think your question is “what to do?” or “whats wrong with her?” clearly she's scared to death, or is frightened by what happened to her. give her some time. let her relax. dont let her jump up or off things. make her feel that although you cant get near her she’s still your baby. eventually she'll put it all behind her and will developa fear of more massive dogs (which is good because she's a chihuahua. if only my rat terrier was the same. LOL!). but she should let it all blow over and will let you cuddle her again. but give it time. don't try and rush her into being cuddled again because that’ll only scare her even more. but while she's still frightened, i suggst you get that fence fixed because if not she'll do it again. chihuahua's can be meanies sometimes and will often go back for “round 2″. get that fence fixed and give her time to become her normal self again. good luck!

ADDED: about the rabies, your dog should've gotten rabies shots at 6 months of age. you can tell if your dog has rabies because white foam would be coming out of your dogs mouth and she'll be unable to control her biting habits. your chihuahua only bites at things because she's afraid that she'll be hurt again. your aunt could adopt her and you should be able to get her back from your aunt. yes you can possibly sue the neighbors because no home dog is supposed to attack like that. suppose a child would've climbed the fence to get a ball? the pitbulls would've attacked the child too. don't gewt me wrong, i love pits but some people think that since they’ve a pit, they can make it the meanest dog in the world. but no.

Answer:
i think that u should make them pay the vet bill and try to find some way to get rid of there pit because what if that was a kid call the pound and see if they well help u with everything and im sorry about your puppy

Answer:
I don't comprehend what the question is…

Answer:
let your aunt adopt it and then pay her back when ever you have money

Answer:
I am really not sure what their rules are about returning a pet after they’ve been surrendered. As far as being able to do any thing to the other dog's owner I doubt it. Because the dog was on their property. Some times a dog rescue service will offer free care for animals, for people who can't afford it. Did they think they could save the dog? As far as her biting she’s traumatized and in awful pain I am sure. I hope each thing works out for you. But I would call and ask them if they’ve any free services for injured pets when people are unable to afford it. Hope this helps

Answer:
I'm not totally sure if you can do anything to the pits owners since your dog was in there yard and I'm guessing their yard is fenced in, however if you suspect the animals are being mistreated you might should call animal control. Your dog will have to be quarantine for 7 days for the not having a rabies shot (at least when my mother was bitten by a cat this is what happened). Not to sure, but since your neighbor was bitten and you didn't have proper vaccinations I do believe (even though your dog bit because it was being attacked) you could get into trouble. Just saying it might not be wisest to try and go after your neighbors for it since your pup didn't have its shots and someone was bitten.

Answer:
the owner of the pits really isn't responsible for the damage done to your dog, because your dog went over into their domain. also why don't you ask your aunt to pay the vet bill, and you can work it off by mowing her yard, weeding her garden, etc… your dog is in total shock.hopefully you’ll get your dog back, but right now the vet needs to hold on to her because she has been traumatized greatly, and she might not snap out of it she may begin being aggressive towards you and others. and maybe you can talk to the owner of the pits and see if he would be willing to pay for the vet bills or at least half of them, cause in a way he is at fault, but not 100 percent because his dogs didn't come into your yard. and too if you do get your dog back or if you get another one make sure you go outside with the dog to make sure it doesn't get out of the fence. i do hope you get your dog back.

Answer:
Contact your local humane society or law enforcement. You might be able to bring charges against the pitbul owner because his dogs attacked yours. It is possible that the dogs will be classified legally as “aggressive dogs” and the owner will have to abide by very strict rules if he’s granted to keep them, even if the owner isn’t found to be abusive.

Answer:
Take them to court, speak to the nearest animal shelter to find out if those dogs have attacked before. See if a lawyer would talk to you for free. Even though she went into their yard they shouldn't that aggressive. I would also report it to the police so they’ve a record so if the dogs attack again then they have the ability to legally take the dogs away and put them down.

Good luck and I hope you get your baby back.

Answer:
Since your dog was in the neighbor's yard, you’re at fault. You would be responsible for any bills incured. Now if the pits attacked your dog in your yard, it would be a different story. You can most likely get your dog back once you or your aunt pays the vet bills. If you get her back make sure that you fix the hole in your fence. At least being in rabies quarantine will insure that she gets vaccinated for rabies. she should have had that shot when she was 3-4 months old.

Answer:
“( we think they abuse the pits, since they’re so agressive and are always thirsty for the water we use to flower out plants)”

That doesn't mean they are Pit Bulls, or that they are even abused. If your parents were concerned about the dogs being abused, they should have contacted law enforcement before now with any concerns.

Anyway, I'm not sure what your question is, but no, the owners of the dogs are NOT responsible for the vet bills, being your dog was left outdoors, unsupervised, and went into their yard.

Work out a payment plan with the vet.

I'm sure this is a hard learned lesson about not leaving animals outdoors, unsupervised, even for a few minutes.
