…her spayed? she’s a poodle mix, she is in heat right now, when will be the next time she will come in heat again? thank you in advance.
Answer:
No, you can't get her spayed while she is in heat becuase the extra bloodflow to the uterus and other organs can result in bleeding. You can get her spayed after her heat cycle if she's pregnant. Dogs go into heat twice per year. It can last up to 3 weeks at a time.
Answer:
It is very dangerous to do so, most heats last for 3 weeks and come each 6 mo. I would wait until her heat is over and make an appointment, ensure that they analyze her before to ensure she is not pregnant.
Ok I just read the previous answers please do not get her spayed while she is in heat, since the surgery is bloodier it is very difficult for the surgeons to see what they are doing. This is a very risky surgery you should just wait out her heat, it isn't going to cause any more damage if you wait another couple weeks.
Answer:
If she's still in heat, she's not pregnant. You can get her spayed even if she's in heat, but, it's ideal to wait until she in no longer in heat. It's safer when she's not.
If she is pregnant, you can still get her spayed. I had to do that one time with my dog. A loose male jumped over our fence and got with her. I made the owner of the male dog pay for half of the vet bill.
Answer:
My vet wouldn’t spay my dog because they tested her and she was to close to her heat. So i have to take her in in about a month, they said they would spay her about 2 months after her heat, and they said dogs usually have 2-3 heats a year so about every 4-6 months depending on the dog. Im not sure about american vets i live in germany so they might do it differently but considering germans treat their dogs better then their children. like everyone else said if shes in heat shes not pregnant
Answer:
Yes, the vet can spay your dog while she's in heat. It's messier than when she's not, so they tend to charge a bit more ($20 according to my own vet).
They can spay/abort the pregnancy as well.
B!tches generally go into heat in the spring and fall. Somewhere around October is a good guestimate.
But, why wait? Get 'er done (after the heat cycle if you can stand it) and be done with the whole thing. You'll be happier. So will your dog.
Answer:
Most vets will not spay while in heat, it is a much more difficult and risky operation, it is superior to wait until after the heat has finished.
The heats will continue about every six months until you do have her spayed.
Answer:
You can, even if she's currently pregnant. The surgery will be a bit more high-priced because it's a bit more of a pain for the surgeon when the uterus is in that state, but it's still safe to do. Good luck!
Answer:
We managed to have our Golden spayed when she was in heat. We’d to pay a tiny more, but she was in heat when we did it. As for if she's pregnant, I'm not sure… you'd have to ask your vet!
Answer:
Vets usually don't spay during a heat cycle, but you can have her spayed immediately after, regardless of whether or not she's pregnant. Most dogs come into heat around every 6 months.
Answer:
Yes you can get her spayed no matter what. It might cost a little more since the surgery will be bloodier, but it'll be superior for her in the long run.
Answer:
I think they like to do it when there not in heat but if she has been caught by a male then they will do it to prevent unwanted puppies. Its roughly 6 months between heats. Please get her spayed ASAP.
Answer:
Yes, you can when she is in heat or even pregnant, but most vets will charge you more.
Answer:
Some places will spay while in heat and/or pregnant for an additional charge ($20 or so where I live).
Answer:
She should be spayed ASAP. Call your vet and make an appointment.
Only show dogs need to be intact.
