My cat Bear has a terrible URI. He is so congested that he is snoring and he never snores. He’s drinking water but I don't think he is getting enough food down him. Bear is on c/d dry because he’d a lot of crystals in his pee a while back. I want to feed him like baby food with chicken in it but am afraid to because I don't want him to get crystals again. (I was cooking chicken today and he wanted it so bad. He was standing right by the stove smelling it. It was adorable especially how sick he looked) I was wondering if anybody else thinks this would be okay just until he gets superior. I am also afraid he might get diarrhea if I switch his food.
Anybody else have any other ideas?

I can give you some suggestions to get him to eat, but I don't know about chicken and crystals. I would talk to your vet about temporarily using other foods to get him eating.
First, try taking him into a bathroom with the shower going. The steam may help loosen some of the congestion. The same thing can be done with a humidifier. Just make sure that he stays nice and warm when he moves away from the moist air.
Also, try the different flavour of c/d. I know there were regular, chicken and seafood flavours the last time I checked. Try microwaving the food for a few seconds to warm it. Warm food smells more and are more tempting. Try offering a smorg of food to see if he likes a different type of food
If he won't eat anything for a few days please contact your vet. Cats can easily develop hepatic lipidosis if they don't eat for a few days. Good luck.

You should be afraid he'll get diarhea if you switch his food. Changing a cat's food should take place gradually over a 10 day period to avoid that. He's not wanting to eat because he can't smell, cats won't eat if they can't smell. Just keep giving him his drops and keep in mind it's the best thing for him, just like a mommy gives there kids yucky medicine because they have to. If you clear up his nose problem you should clear up his eating problem. PS Oh yeah, sorry your kitty is sick, just hang in there.
