My little cat named “Kiki” is around one year old now. She actualy fetches just about anything like a Golden Retreiver. She’ll use just about anything to fetch & she’s obsessed with it, she will keep doing it until I stop (& get sick of it) & then she kind of wines like I'm not “playing” with her anymore. Has anyone else ever had a cat like this? Just wondering, because people kind of freak when they see her do it!!:)

Answer:
First of all, no— and that's super cool!!! I've had cats who would chase after an object you threw for them, but they wouldn't always bring it back.

I had a cat named Humphrey years ago. Humphrey was raised mostly by humans from a bottle in her kitten infancy. As a result, when she would curl up with me next to my neck in the middle of the night, purring, she would sometimes SUCK on my neck. If i didn't push her away, or it didn't wake me up, I would awaken in the morning with little hickeys on my neck!!!! That was weird.

I've also had more than one cat (but one named Odie that comes to mind immediately) who would come no matter where they were outside. I would go outside, whistle and yell Odie's name, and Odie would come running full-speed, sometimes from many houses down away from my home. People were always amazed that my cat would always come to me when I called him.

I've had other cats with one-of-a-kind traits, so I know what you're saying. Oh!!! One more quick example: My cat K. B. (short for Kitty Bear) has a sister relationship with our only other living cat, Casey, as well as with our dog Molly; Molly and K.B. sleep together often). Our other cat, Casey, is an inside-outside cat, whereas K.B. stays inside. But when Casey goes to a door or window at any part of the home from outside in the middle of the night wanting in, K.B. comes in my bed and cries and paws at me and my husband until one of us gets up to find Casey and let her in the house. Never had a cat before K.B. who would wake me up to let another cat inside the home. Weird.

I love cats!!!! My beagle mix Molly is a great dog, but I've never had the same sort of memories and stories with her or any other dog I've owned like I've had with the cats that I’ve grown up with and still have. Go, kitties!!!

My mother's cat, Izzy, does the same thing with her little jingle balls. She anticipates my son to play fetch with her each time we come to visit and if he doesn't, she pouts and whines. One time she didn't bring the ball back all the way and dropped it a few feet from where he was laying on the floor. He stretched out his arm as far as he could to show her he couldn't reach it from there and told her to bring it closer. So she immediately laid down about the same the distance away from the ball, stretched out her own paw and looked back at him as if to state “well it's too far away for me too, you'll just have to get up and get it!” :)

Answer:
It is in a cats nature to bond to someone or pick up habits, he thinks you are playing with him like with ribbon or anything else cats chase. Yes very pleasing for us who don’t associate this as a cats behavior but it really is…same as “Kitty fishing” with ribbon :) he he he cats are great.

Answer:
my mom had a cat that would take old empty cigarette packs out of the trash, smack them around, bring the empty pack to my mom and then she would throw it and the cat would fetch it. when the cat was done playing she would put the cigarrette pack back in the trash can she found it in.

Answer:
I’ve had three cats over the years of being a cat companion that would fetch. One of my two I have now will still do it, and he is 9 years old. One of my previous cats not only played fetch, but a friend's daughter taught him to play tag, which he loved to do.

Answer:
Yes. Two of my cats play ball in the kitchen by batting the ball with their paws. Kitty soccer I call it. The other two will fetch the same tiny balls it thrown in the living room. One goes nuts for aluminum foil candy wrappers made into a ball during the holidays.

Answer:
My cat fluffy adores to play fetch! She will fetch her mouse toys, the ring off a milk bottle or anything that she can pick up in her mouth. She will do it until my arm is ready to fall of from throwing across the room. It is so cute and fun :-)

Answer:
I've know several cats that do that. But they all seemed to grow out of it. Or maybe the lazy humans (my friends) stopped giving enough reward?

Its really cool.

Answer:
mine does! its the cutest thing ever. i have a dog that wont fetch but my cat will do it all day long. i love it!

Answer:
both of our family cats roo and aussie, both males love to fetch they race after balls and other toys and most of the time bring them back for another throw, its all good fun
