HI just wanted to know,my cat is an indoor cat, summer is her favourtie time,as all the flies&other insects are around, she’ll sit on the balcony&catch all flies&insects, first bringing them to me as a gift&then she will eat them in front of me!also in the evening she will sit by the window&when she hears a “bzzzz”noise she goes crazy!does your cat also do this?i find it funny, but not when she wants to try&give me kisses after she has eaten these things….

Answer:
YES! all ma cats have loved chasing flies =] I've had a dragon fly, and a giant moth bought as pressies from them! lol one of my cats is also more of an indoor cat, but loves it when flies come in…even when they are wasps!! she ends up chasing them each where, regardless of where she’s going…

my other cat, definitely an outdoor one, cares about flies to bits….to chase and to eat!! when all the moths were out last year, he caught a big one, ran in and went upstairs to show my brother….n then dropped it on his chest!!! he wasn't too pleased about that =p

its really cute when they chase flies =] but a definitely concur…its not funny when they try n slobber all over you after munching on a fly!

There aren't a whole lot of insects here, and usually the cats are inside. When a bug gets inside, if one of the cats sees it, it will try to catch it, especially if it is near the floor. Their eyes will follow the bug and sometimes they'll chase after it, but usually they just follow it with their head. Sometimes I see insects flying around and the cats don't notice it even when it gets somewhat close. My cat eats them all the time. I'm like 'eww' but my cat never licks me. The cats we have don't ever leave us presents though, they just like chasing and eating the bugs.

Answer:
God yes! We have two indoor cats and a few times that a moth or fly has been in the home they go Crazy! They dont care who or what they step on to get to it and will followin it around the home for HOURS! We've come home from being out one night and just collapsed into bed when the cats come running out of nowhere and jump on us. Turns out they were chasing a large moth that had ended up inside. We tried to ignore it, but the moth kept moving, so the cats would move with it. Eventually we’d my fiance and the two cats trying to chase to poor thing around. We also have a lot of cicadas aroung our home in summer and if the cats can hear them at night, they’ll pounce at the screen door as if to catch them.

Answer:
Australia, bug city big time, my cats don't give a hoot, but my sisters cat will go to the neighbors home to get huge shiny 2 inch cockroaches and jump a 6 foot fence to bring them into the kitchen and chew them up, crunch crunch crunch in front of whoever isn’t able to run away screaming. My cat is a Gekko fan, but only long enough for them to drop their tail and freak him out. He'll cry at the door with one in his mouth, you open the door, he drops it and it is now in the home! I Love cats, but I couldnt' eat a whole one, ha ha

Answer:
Here in Cyprus during the summer months, our female cat catches massive garden cockroaches. She can be very possessive of them and if she thinks that I'm going to take it away from her, she'll pop it in her mouth, growl and run off with it. She also cares about to play fetch, and much to my horror, has brought me a live cockroach on more than one occasion hoping I'll throw it for her (lol).

Answer:
I've been around indoor cats all my life ,30 years, cats though domesticated are still natural hunters. Your cat is fine. If she didn't try to go after the bugs I would be worried. I've had cats that would literally jump 5' straight up to catch a fly. Think of it as your cat getting some much needed exercise after the long winter. Good Luck

Answer:
Iggy (who my sister is taking care of right now) will literally jump straight up into the air and snatch flies, moths, and any other flying insect that comes near him, with his paw. When he's outside, he's deadly with the birds.

Answer:
my kitten goes mad over anything i think he has issues !!! he races around the house at 50 miles and hour chasing flies, he goes loony over fruit shoot bottle lids!!!!!!!! and quite often jumps in the bin from the work top which is at least 3 ft away for no apparent reason

Answer:
Yes all my cats love bugs! I have the ability to always tell if I have some kind of bug flying around the house since all five of my cats will chase it at the same time. lol The only bugs I hate to see the cats playing with is palmetto roaches yuck!

Answer:
rofl, my cat is obsessed with flies, once he sees one, he can't lay his eyes off of it, its hilarious how he “barks” at it and does all kinds of tricks in order to catch and eat it.
