I started spotting 6 days ago. Started off with a tint of red then went to very light brown. I also had some mild lingering cramps. I went to the dr. - Pap smear was normal, ultrasound showed 5 -6 weeks. This worried me because I thought for sure I was 7 weeks 2 days (or so). My HCG levels were 10,700. The ultrasound tech said everything looked good. My concerned for 5-6 week timeframe. I went back and looked at calendar and based on ovulation and first positive pregancy test I could not have been any less than 6 weeks 3 days. (that is stretching it).

Brown spotting and cramps stopped for a few days, however both are back today.

I get HCG levels back tomorrow after 3 days of waiting.

Can I still have a successful pregnancy? I really have a feeling I'm miscarrying. Be honest!

Answer:
My wife spotted and cramped at 4 mos, and full-fledged bled at 5. Doctors gave us the "your baby is dead" speech, then when they put the doppler on, the boy was fine. Now, we have a very healthy 16 month old.

There are several things that can cause spotting, cramping, and beleding…ours was a slightly out-of-position placenta. Don't panic….this could be a signal of a bad thing, but could be nothing as well.

Good luck, and keep your chin up!

Answer:
stop worrying about it, I had spotting with my twins and then made it to 36 weeks and 4 days. some spotting is normal at times, if it gets really heavy with cramps than call your doctor but until then don't worry that will make you stress and you'll feel worse and so will the baby.

Answer:
When I had brown spotting the nurse said that it was something in there that just needed to get out. She said that brown indicates it is older. Red spotting would indicate something currently happening. So to answer your question you can still have a successful pregnancy when there is spotting.

Don't stress yourself out trying to figure the timing out or worrying about miscarrying. There is nothing you can do if you are going to have a miscarriage. Go back to the doctor at week 12 and see what happens.

Answer:
i had exactly the same thing at 8 and then again at 12 weeks. my midwife says its perfectly normal and just your body getting in the swing of things like being pregnant not having periods etc. i am now just over 24 weeks and everything is going peachy.

good luck hun
