I'm 34 weeks and I have heart burn every day now. I never had it before I got pregnant. I take tums but that just doesn't see to help for very long. Any one got some advice or remidies?
Answer:
i feel ya! i had pregnant every day all of the time while i was pregnant! i know how you feel. it felt like tums was my dessert after every meal haha.
try one of these:
zantac.
or as gross as it sounds…a spoonful of mustard. it really works. if you get desperate enough you'll try it lol
I drank a lot of milk..that helped A LOT.
ask your doctor about Phenergan. it helps with nausia too.
or get some Prevacid
hopefully one of these will help you. good luck
Answer:
Gatorade. I read about it when I was pregnant. It really works.

I'm 34 weeks as well and my heartburn is back. Tums worked in the first trimester but not anymore. My doctor recommended Pepcid AC this time around and it is making a world of difference. Heartburn is very new to me too, pregnancy is the only time I've ever experienced it.
Best of luck to you and I hope this helps you out also!
Answer:
milk helps, and i love tums. depends on the severity
Answer:
I swear tums became a whole other food group when I was pregnant…my hubby called it my "candy" - it was the only thing that worked…
Answer:
My doctor had me take Zantac 150 for my heartburn. I had a horrible problem with it even before pregnancy, and it got horribly worse during. He said as long as you are in your 2nd trimester or farther, it is OK to take. I had to take it pretty much everyday.
Answer:
suck a peice of coal!!….very old cure!!!
Answer:
Honestly.. there's nothing you can really do to get rid of it. All you can do is not eat or drink any acidy foods like soda. And what helps is trying to keep your torso a bit elevated.
Answer:
I had it lots when I was pregnant. Generally I could go through a big bottle of Tums in a week. It varies for different people. I tried to drink milk and avoid sweet, and greasy things before bed. Lay low on caffeine. Some say to fight acid with acid like eating a teaspoon of mustard. I just couldn't force myself to do it. I would get about a smear of it on my tongue and couldn't eat the rest. They say a lot of heartburn means you will have a baby with a head full of hair. Old wives tale. I had a premmie myself and he looked like an old man who was starting to bald. He only had hair above his ears. I'm laughing just remembering. Hope the heartburn dissapaties. Mine was always worse at night and I would just have to keep eating tums till I couldn't eat anymore. The only other advice is on your next dr.'s visit ask him if there is anything he can prescribe. You might be able to take something that will stop it before you get it.
Answer:
Mint. Any mint. In the old days it was given to babies. Crust a small chunk of wagon wheel and dissolve it into a bottle of water and it worked every time. Why put chemicals into your body when you don't need to? Much luck!
Answer:
I mix about a teaspoon of baking soda with a glass of water and drink it fast. That helps me. But if it doesn't work you can take Tums.. they are safe. Hope this helps!
Answer:
My doctor told me that I should let her know if heart burn gets very bad. That many of the prescription drugs are safe during pregnancy. You may want to discuss it with your doctor.
Answer:
31 weeks for me…I use a small glass of milk when I get it.
Answer:
A friend told me to eat a banana. I thought she was weird but I discovered it really works!
