Kitten Training?

Author: admin

Well, my boyfriend is letting me get a kitten!! I have taken in a few strays before but they were adults and only came in the home to eat but mostly just hang out outside. I want this one to be an inside cat. What's your advice on kitten training or what's a good website? I want to read up on everything so I am prepared.

Here are my favorites: (the last one is really interesting)

Kittens are adorable and suprisingly simple. My kitten naturally found the litter tray (she is an indoor cat too) and has only had a few accidents. She actually gets scared when I’ve tried to take her outside because she is so used to the quiet of her home.

A spray bottle can be used to reprimand the kitten but I rarely do. Just a sharp no can help a lot and most kittens are so cute they’re impossible to stay angry at for too long. With the german shepherd I would keep them apart when you are not in the home, feed time and at night. As good friends as they may be, a cat cornered, who cannot get outside, can’t defend itself against a german shepherd if it ever needed to.

All kittens are different and some are superior behaved than otehrs but mine has been a complete joy. I miss her when I am at work and when I am on holiday.

Answer:
someone once told me to train a kitten to stay inside, get a tin and put rocks in it. let the kitten out of the door and as the kitty goes out someone on the other side of the door shakes the tin like crazy and kitty runs back inside. After many occasions of this, kitty remains inside by choice!

Dont smack her when kitty does something wrong, use a spray bottle with water, or sharply blow on its face - they hate that!

I knew someone with a dog like yours, really sweet dog and loved her kitten buddy but at food time she got a bit frustrated and there wasn't a happy ending. Feed separate!
