I am living in London, and would like to get a Labbe or Beagador (Labrador and Beagle mix) as they’re much smaller. Most the time they’ll be out in the country, but will have to be sometimes in the city. Exercise is no problem as I live next to a park in London. Do you know where I could get a Labbe?
Answer:
Please don't fall for a designer dog! These are overpriced, simply put, MUTTS.
Designer dogs are the up and coming rage among Hollywood and dog lovers alike. Dogs like the puggle (pug beagle), the cockapoo aka cockerpoo or spoodle (cocker-spaniel poodle), the labradoodle (Labrador retriever poodle), the peekapoo (pekingnese poodle) and the Schnoodle (Schnauzer Poodle) are growing ever more popular this day than ever before. Why are these “mutts” so big right now?
1. Cute Names – Designer dogs have cute names that people love and make the appearance of a new breed of dog that very few have heard of. For example: the puggle.
2. Great for those with allergies – Unlike some purebred dogs, designer dogs are often bred to reduce the amount of allergens they produce by not having an undercoat.
3. Sheds less – Some designer dogs are bred to shed less than other dogs.
4. Genetic advantage - Believed to be less likely to inbreeding, the designer dog is thought to have superior temperaments and also thought to be smarter and more trainable than their purebred counter parts.
Controversy surrounding these dogs have made purebred dog owners enraged. It’s bad for there business and the qualities listed above only hold true in specific cases. The designer dog fad has also had its fallbacks.
1. Bad breeding – bad breeding leads to unwanted dogs. Many people want to produce a designer dog without doing back-ground checks and without the skills needed to do so.
2. Bad owners – Some believe that just because they purchased a designer dog means that they don’t need to train, care for or love their pet as much. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Designer dogs need just as much care and attention as all other dogs do, if not more.
3. More expensive – the price for these dogs have sky-rocketed sometimes hit the $1,000 mark. Sometimes its superior just to go to the humane society or animal shelter and find a perfectly fine dog. The shots and care for these dogs can make their prices higher as well.
Don’t get me wrong, these are wonderful pets. However, they need wonderful owners as well. Love and care and proper healthcare and grooming are essential for a happy life-long companion. If you would like to keep your costs and concerns down when purchasing a designer dog I advocate that you check its breeding history and do temperament tests as well as get them screened for certain common genetic disorders such as hip-dysplasia and retinal atrophy. Proper preparation and responsible habits lead to a great dog.
Just go to the shelter or pound, whatever you english people call it, and adopt a mix, maybe they might have a beagle mix that needs a loving home, that you could provide if you selected it, over some overpriced ,fany named “mutt”.
Answer:
From an animal shelter. Just search around for a Lab/Beagle cross, and you will find tons, I'm sure.
If you purchase from someone who says they are “purebred” or “hybrid” you’re not only contributing to the overpopulation of dogs, and the back yard breeding of mutts, but you’re also most likely getting scammed.
Adopt–you can get the mix you want and save a life.
Answer:
There are plenty of breeds between a Lab and a Beagle in size. Don't encourage irresponsible breeding by buying one of these from a direputable breeder. If you want a crossbreed, go to your local animal rescue - try Battersea!
If you decide on a purebred, go to a reputable breeder who does all the necessary health checks (not just “vet checked”) before breeding:

For cryin out loud…..lay off the “foo-foo” names. There is no sucha thing as a “Beagador”, “Beagadoodle”, “Labreagle”,
“Shitzabeagador”, etc.
IF you're looking for a MIXED breed….that's fine. Call it WHAT IT IS. For instance, “I'm looking for a Lab Mix….but smaller than a lab”. Or….”I'm looking for a Beagle Mix…..but a tiny larger”. Then, go to the shelter each Saturday until you find something you like.
If people would call it enjoy it is, it would be a heck of a lot easier to know what they're talking about. I can't decipher half the “Designer” names…so why not just state what the exact mix is??????? LAB/POODLE MIX..Not Labradoodle! There's completely nothing wrong with mixed breeds. BUT, giving them a cute name puts thousands of puppy mills in business.
Answer:
id recommend just going either a pure breed Lab or a rehoming shelters lab mix. dont go for beales, although they are lovely dogs they need a lot of excersise (a lot more than u probably think).
I doubt a beagle would be able to cope in busy london. All those people and scents will agitate him and make him bay constantly.
Answer:
Whoa…There are SO, SO many lab mixes in the shelter (labbes included. Why not look there, or in a rescue? But if you want to get a mini-lab looking dog, go for the patterdale terrier. Here's a link..: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/patterdalete…
People won't bash you if you as about those ;). Plus, they're even smaller. Just please don't go for I-paid-money-for-a-mutt kinda business. In all honesty, that dog looks like a million I know that sat in the shelter near me for days and ended up getting put to sleep. However, good luck finding a quality companion! ![]()
Answer:
Consider adopting a Lab from a rescue, breeder that has been running a dog on or a breed rescue.
If you find a cross it will probably be from an accidental mating and the dam and sire will probably not have been health tested ect…..
