Lunch ideas?

Author: admin

I work 7-3 bring my lunch everyday. At this point I'm just running out of ideas. I'm preggo so that means no deli sandwiches (unless meat's heated) and I'm sick of soup and frozen dinners (Lean Cuisine). Any ideas? I also bring an apple and yogurt everyday.

Answer:
Have you tried cooking at home at night and putting it in freezer containers, that way you have homemade stuff you can reheat. Stews and most meals will last awhile in the freezer, that way you can have portionable sizes and something different.

Answer:
Peanut butter & jelly? Good for you and the baby. How about cheese and crackers, or cheese on bread? Left overs from the night before are always good for lunch.

Answer:
How about a salad with spinach, feta, chickpeas, red onion, dried cranberries, and some yummy salad dressing (like Ken's Steakhouse). Bake a chicken breast and make a sandwich of it on whole wheat bread with honey mustard, lettuce, & tomato. Yum!

Answer:
Cheese sandwiches/mac n cheese are great…gives you a lot of your much-needed calcium!

Edit: The salad mentioned by Julie looks good, but make sure not to have feta on it! Feta is a big no-no for pregnant women!

Answer:

Answer:
You can eat deli meat as long as it's thoroughly cooked. Why don't you just cook your own at home if you don't trust the deli?

I don't eat meat at all. Here are some things I eat for lunch:

Natural PB&J on whole wheat bread

Homemade pasta salad

A big Salad with lots of veggies

Cold sesame noodles

Veggie stuffed pita bread

There are so many choices so think outside the box. Lean Cuisine is not a healthy choice.

Answer:
A wrap with hummus and cheese and tomatos.

A veggie burger or black bean burger with your favorite fixings.

Salad with grilled chicken.

Chicken salad sandwich.

Answer:
Make a foccasia( I know I spelt that wrong). A nice Mediterranean one with spinach leaves, feta cheese, egg plant, artichoke hearts and sun dried tomato's. When you press it in the warmer, mmm they all combine the flavors. Something different, healthy and very yummy. I treat myself to them sometimes.

Answer:
vary your fruit by bringing an orange or a kiwi, pear, mandarin or grapes. or all of the above! if you do not feel like cutting it up at work, just cut it up the night before, stick it in a tupperware container , wrap it in a piece of kitchen towel (those containers always leak at the most inappropriate times! and bring a fork to eat it with.

keep in fridge until the next morning of course.

you could eat buns, raisin buns, raisin toast, scones with jam, croissants, you could try vegetarian meat alternatives, tastes similar but no issues with poisonous bad things happening to your baby! or grill some haloumi cheese and take with avocado/tomato sandwiches to work.

the idea is to get fresh and fibrous foods, not so much carbohydrates.

good luck

Answer:
i eat a bunch of deli sandwiches i make at home, i havent died yet and my pregnancy is going healthy.

Anyways, bring some soup- homemade is best b/c it is lower in sodium than canned- also what about making some home made hot pockets - or buying them , i enjoy those for lunch but i usually make them

Answer:
Tuna sandwiches - easiest if you can get a sandwich maker to seal the fillings inside the bread - less mess. Spread a little butter on the bread before putting in the tuna. A great source of iron and omega oil.

Oats with mixed fruits or nuts and topped with banana. Bring along a packet of milk to eat it with. Great to get yr dose of potassium, fibre and other vitamins depending on the mixed fruits. Nuts is a good source of iron.
