I've tried rice mixed with some apples and bananas, but she wouldn't eat it. Then, I tried the same with some of her dog food ground up and mixed in to it, but after gobbling a few mouthfuls, she realized my plan and just gave me a disgusted look and loped off. The vet's checked in, and she’s just having diarrhea, nothing too serious. Any suggestions on what to feed her? She hasn't eaten a full bowl of food in about 5 days!
Answer:
Three parts rice to one part hamburger. Just make sure that you boil the heck out of the hamburger. We usually recommend this to our clients whose animal has diarrhea. You can also put her on a short fast for 12 hours only allowing water.
Answer:
If your dog has had diarrhoea and your vet has neither supplied re-hydration salts nor advocate a suitable diet you really need to find a better vet.
Please; No apples or bananas until she’s superior, a raw whole carrot would be superior anyway.
I usually have small dogs, so sort out your own serving size - but if she was mine I would scramble her an egg.
Plain boiled chicken is the best diet for her until she’s superior, if she will eat it mix in some boiled rice.. Lamb is also very good for dogs digestion, especially in combination with rice.
Good Luck, and please be careful when walking her - it might be a non serious stomach upset for her but if caught by a less well dog…
Answer:
In my past experience is brown rice and boiled chicken….:)
However if she has an upset stomach she maybe not keen to eat.
I know you've said you've tried to feed her rice but maybe it's not brown don't know why this makes the difference.
Hope this helps you a bit
Hope your dogs better soon. Also what kind of dog is she?
Answer:
When my dogs are sick or have an upset stomach we feed them ground beef and rice. It really works it calms there stomach and it is something that they can keep in threr stomachs not something that they’ll throw up. My doberman adores apples and bananas! lol but um i hope this helps your dog and please contact me if it does work.
Answer:
apples and bananas? those aren't exactly dog type foods. try mixing in plain canned pumpkin (one tablespoon with her food) or plain boiled chicken (no bones and no salt or spices) with rice. if it continues seek a second opinion and in the meantime, keep her hydrated.
Answer:
white rice or just brown rice not blended together and just alittle bit of boilded plain chicken. no dog can turn down chicken.
