NST ordered at 34 weeks?

Author: admin

I’m 34 weeks and my baby is measuring 36 weeks. He already weighs in at 6 lbs. at 34 weeks. Doctor ordered me to begin coming each week and have Non-Stress Test done during appointment. Has anyone had this done?

Answer:
Yes :-)

I go for them each Tuesday! They put 2 circular things on your belly, one to monitor his/her heartbeat and one to see if you’re having contractions! Nothing to worry about at all, it's pretty cool to hear the heartbeat! 20-40 min is usually how long they do it for and if your office is like mine, they’ve recliners and magazines! I have had them every week since I was 25 weeks and I am 29 now and will have them until he comes! They are not always so acurate, so if the heartbeat goes away real swift, don't worry its just the baby moved and it takes a min for the machine to find the heartbeat again! I am so thankful my physician told me that, or I would have flipped when that happened!

Good luck and it sounds like you don't ave much longer, so have a good delivery :-)

I'm 30 weeks, havent had to get that done yet this time, but with my first i had to go twice a week for a half hour…they have you relax and get all comfy, monitor the babys heart rate, if your havin any contractions, and they watch for dips in the heart rate and keep track of how often the baby moves. It really is resting sitting there, and you can hear your little one move around (if the volume is turned up) and listen to hiccups..so adorable!

Answer:
Yes. I go in weekly and will continue to until he is born. They just put the straps around your belly ….my appointments last about a half hour….during that time you lay back, relax and they check the baby's heartbeat and check to see if you have contractions.
