My family is getting a puppy in 2 weeks. he will be staying in my fathers room for his first nights. what time should he go to bed? my father goes to bed at about 11. does the pup need to go to sleep earlier than that?

We put our 6 month old Lab in the crate at about 9:30 on weekdays and 10:30 on weekends. He gets up at about 6:00 on weekdays, and 7:00 on weekends.
Whenever your dog wants to go to bed, and wake up should be the time. Your pup will want to play at midnight, and will bark and howl if you use a crate.

The puppy will sleep whenever it is ready. If you think that 11 pm is too late, don't worry because the puppy will sleep through the day.
