Well it has been a year and a month that I have stopped using any protection and we’ve been trying to conceive just by not using protection and BD'ing. We’ve not charted or anything else like that. Well my cycles haven’t been regular since March 2009. My physician thinks that I’m not ovulating so he stated that I need to consider either getting on BC for 3 to 4 mins to see if it regulates or begin taking Metaformin. I am confused on what I should do. Does anyone have any success stories on either of the two options?
Answer:
This is my first cycle with my RE. Previously my OB/GYN put me on clomid for two cycles 100mg and 200mg with provera to begin my cycles. Those didn't work. So I went to an RE and he put me on metformin with clomid 200mg and provera to begin my cycle. This cycle I had an US on friday which one cycle day 12. I had 4 mature follicles. 32mm on left ovary 27,26,25 mm on the right. Plus I got a positive OPK the day after. So me and hubby BD'd saturday and Sunday. I am hoping that this is my month. But since using metformin with clomid, i couldn't believe how well it worked. I also have pcos, which is why I was put on the metformin. Baby dust hun and I hope that this helps!

I honestly think you need to start charting. It will really tell you if you are or are not ovulating. I charted and saw I wasn't ovulating and then went to a fertility specialist who diagnosed me with PCOS.
Metformin is usually given to women with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) to help regulate their cycles. Most of those women are also insulin resistant.
Do some research on PCOS, soulcysters.com is a good site, if you think you have it you may want to see a specialist who can do some blood work and a ultrasound to try to figure out what’s going on.
Good luck!
