A 5 and a 1/2 month pregnant woman has abnormal pap smear , possibly cancer would ob refer to oncology or not?

An abnormal pap doesn't necessarily mean cancer. The first thing it is, the body is fighting something, it might clear on it's own. It could be also what is called precancerous which is not cancer yet. If things progress, she then might be sent to a specialist.

It is possible to have a abnormal pap smear and not have cancer. I have had this several times in my lifetime. They usually wait a month and do it again. If they really felt you had

That’s something for a gynecologist. An abnormal pap smear seems scary, but it really isn't. As long as she's being watched by her doctor..she’ll be fine.
