How would I go about getting SSD?

SSD- social security disability

How would I go about getting that?

I cannot work due to back problems and I’m haveing surgery done very soon. I also have had many wrist surgerys and my wrist is worse off.

My parents and friends keep telling me to file for it but i dont know what I’ve to do.

Any help?

Ps- Im not looking for handouts, i can’t work a normal job like you would at walmart.Ok!

First of all you are going to have to go down to your local Social Security office and pick up the forms that you need to fill out to start the process. The next step will consist of doctors appointments and then the state will make a decision based on the doctor(s) evaluations. Be advised that up to 80% of claims are denied the first time and be prepared to contact a SSD attorney. Good luck to you!
